I am so grateful for Carrie. I breastfed my first child for over two years and four months into breastfeeding my second child I needed help. Our pediatrician recommended I see Carrie. I saw her for two separate issues over a year apart-- first a tongue tie and second a bleb. In both instances Carrie was kind, thoughtful, educational, and so knowledgeable. I appreciate how approachable she is and how she walked me through the issues. She offered valuable and effective solutions. She was also clear about what next steps were and always sent me home with written notes to help me follow through on her guidance. In the case of the tongue tie, I was also seeing a chiropractor and Carrie was so helpful coordinating my care with our pediatrician and chiropractor. I'm still breastfeeding thanks to her care. Carrie was an enormous help to me upon the start of my nursing journey, both from a practical and emotional standpoint. Having had a breast reduction, nursing was of utmost importance but also a big source of anxiety for me. Carrie checked in on me multiple times and made herself completely available to answer my (many, many) questions! She did so without my asking simply because she cared. Her advice was not only thorough and detailed, but also incredibly encouraging and positive. She gave me invaluable advice on many subjects ranging from shield use to supply issues, plugged ducts and nursing positions. The list of my questions goes on and Carrie made time to help me through them all. Her knowledge base is vast and she willingly offered her expertise to smooth the start of our nursing journey. Carrie's guidance enabled us to get off to a successful start in those critical first few weeks paving the way for our nursing journey! She made me feel supported, safe and despite a tricky start, we are still going strong at 8.5 months! I will always be grateful to Carrie for her care and support.

It had been just over 3 weeks struggling to achieve a good latch with my baby. I was curious about getting some help and searched for lactation consultants in the area. I came across Carrie and sent her an email one evening requesting some help. She immediately responded and was available the next day. She worked around a time frame that was good for me and came to my house! She was so friendly and knowledgeable and really made me feel comfortable. She helped achieve a “textbook latch” that I am still impressed with as I am still working and learning breastfeeding. Not only this, that evening and every day after her visit, she reached out to check on my progress and to ask how the previous night went. In addition, she has answered my questions ranging from funny feelings in my breast to dealing with strong letdowns/over-supply to my baby spitting up. This support has been unbelievably helpful for a first-time Mom learning how to breastfeed after so many struggles the first few weeks. Her support filled me with confidence to keep trying.

I saw Carrie again after a rough couple of days and she reset my confidence and assured me that the skills I was learning were working and we were making progress. She also helped ease my mind as I was filled with so much information about breastfeeding that I was over-analyzing everything. To this day, I still feel like my success in breastfeeding stems from the support and guidance Carrie provided me. I am so thankful I found her and we were able to meet. Anyone struggling and feeling close to quitting – reach out to Carrie first! You will not regret it! She is absolutely wonderful. (Mom of Baby H)
I am a licensed midwife in Thurston county. My clients and I recognize the importance of successful breastfeeding, not only for the health of the baby, but also the health of the mother. I have had the opportunity to work with Carrie on multiple occasions and I cannot sing her praises higher.
If there is a breastfeeding concern, for example, baby is not gaining weight appropriately or the mother is experiencing pain with nursing, it is not appropriate to tell a woman that she can be seen in a few days, these problems cannot wait! |
Every time a client of mine has utilized Carrie's services she has seen them the same day even if it meant coming over in the evening outside of regular business hours. My practice honors the immediate postpartum time where a mother should be resting and recovering from childbirth at home, not frantically racing from appointment to appointment. Carrie's practice shares these same values. For a reasonable fee, she not only offers a same day, in-home, 2 hour consultation, she also offers follow-up for the next week!
Whenever I get the opportunity to work with Carrie I know that I can expect open communication and collaboration, timely reports, and a friendly demeanor that makes my clients feel at ease.
Carrie also offers prenatal breastfeeding classes that my clients absolutely love. I can't recommend Carrie more for her lactation consultant services. She is an asset to our community, I look forward to our continued collaboration and serving new mothers together.

Carrie was a huge help to me when my son was born. I wasn't sure I would be able to continue breastfeeding since it was so painful to feed him. Carrie helped identify his tongue tie and, after that was revised, he became an awesome eater! I am so glad I had her come check him out before I gave up. She texted with me to follow-up for the next week and her advice was so helpful! I had Carrie come back before I went back to work to check how much he was eating so I could prep the appropriate amount of milk. She's full of great tips and helpful info and is an excellent resource for nursing moms! (Mom of Baby B) |
I am so glad that I worked with Carrie shortly after the birth of my first baby. As a new mom, breastfeeding was surprisingly stressful and Carrie's support made all the difference. My son was very sleepy and a little jaundiced the first few days and not eating enough, and I have inverted nipples which made it a (painful!) struggle to get him to latch sometimes. He needed breast milk to help reduce his jaundice. Carrie was kind, patient, and available. She would text with me throughout the day so that in those frustrating moments I did not feel so anxious or isolated. Carrie took the initiative to check up on me if we hadn't connected in a while, and she stuck with us until our problems were resolved. I never felt silly asking her questions, and that was really important to me. Our baby is 20 oz over his birth weight and is only 24 days old! Thanks Carrie! (Mom of Baby J)

Carrie was a great help to me during the first weeks and months of breastfeeding my first child. My son had a painful latch and I was overwhelmed in those early days, but Carrie came to my house and talked with me, examined his latch, and encouraged me to keep going! She gave me ideas for troubleshooting and supported me both in-person and via messaging. With her support and that of other breastfeeding mothers, I was able to breastfeed my son until 22 months. I am so glad I had Carrie’s support and knowledge.

We first met Carrie when our baby was around 2 weeks old. Having breastfeed previously, we weren't having any issues but just wanted some peace of mind that things were going well due to our baby being born so small. Carrie was easy to get in touch with and was able to see us quickly. She was very professional and kind during her visit with us. She followed up with us regularly to check in which was nice. When our baby was 3 months old, we had her come back to assess for a possible tongue tie and discuss some other issues that had come up. Carrie was quick, but thorough with her exam. I am thankful for her knowledge in this area. Carrie is very good at her job and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a lactation consultant! (Mom of Baby M)

Carrie was truly a lifesaver! Our experience with breastfeeding has been far from easy but she made it doable with her advice. Her support and understanding was key for me to keep going and not give up. I am positive that we will achieve our goal even though breastfeeding has been a struggle. Thank you, Carrie!
